Parents as Learning Partners

Join BNS-BCS librarian Susan Westover on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. as she discusses the challenges and opportunities children face in today’s digital world.Learn how to help kids use social media safely and responsibly and how to help them manage their digital footprint as they grow. See how the library manages its digital content and how Susan plans to integrate digital literacy into the library curriculum.

This meeting is also an opportunity to see how the library is connected to classroom life and integrated throughout the curriculum through weekly class visits and other programs including book clubs, author visits, and more.

We’ll be meeting in the library (on the 4th floor). Bring your questions and suggestions!

What a great parent as learning partners session. Thank you thank you Susan and colleagues. My question is how much monitored Internet surfing / research is enough to promote media literacy for a 3rd grader?
